Well, the Martha Stewart of Episcopalia has done it again.  Sunday, Feb, 17th was the second of St. Andrew's Concert Series.  And what a great event it was. The concert was supurb as well as the beautiful reception afterward.
This concert was a Heavenly Harps belated Valentine concert.  The musicians were the South Florida Harp Trio.  They were wonderful!  All three are sought after around the world and are a part of orchestras in Europe and the U.S.
The lead harpist in Sunday afternoon's concert was Stacey Berkley, a graduate of the University of Miami School of Music where she studied with renowned harpitst. Edward Vito.  She has won many harp awards around the wold and has been a featured performer with the World Harp Congress in Prague, Czech Republic. She has been on public television many times and has cut two CD's.  I bought two which Stacey autographed for me.
A couple of weeks ago I was talking about this upcoming concert with a St. Mark's friend, Bruce.
He was planning to go as well and he talked about having heard Marcos Vega, another South Florida harpist.  Actually, I had forgot about the wonderful harpist Larry and I had heard at Easter Brunch at the Breakers years ago.  Bruce let me borrow his two Vega CD's to burn on my ipod.
I hope these three wonderful and talented women cut a CD together. It's a rare opportunity to hear a concert of only harps. There is only one, maybe two harps used in an orchestra.  So last night's concert was really something special.
